Scott Hartman. So here's my story, I was born in Indianapolis Ind. In 1970 and was an army brat so at a week old we moved to Germany for 8 years. My dad was an abusive alcoholic and would beat my mom,sister and myself every chance he got, he also introduced me to beer at the age of 4, when my mom left him we moved back to the states to Bonne Terre Missouri to live with my grandma who trust was old school switch and all, for the next several years I didn't do any drugs or drank I was all about football, baseball, martial arts and band, but I guess to fit in I would always get into fights broke way too many noses in my day.My mom's second husband sexually abused while I slept one night and stole a lot of money from me to support his habit and when I told my mom she just said sorry but He's got a problem.  Well no shit, so from then on I felt like I had to do things on my own. At 17, I was in a bad accident and got introduced to painkillers which my addictive personality really enjoyed. Fast forward a few years after being married and having a son at the age of 19 and divorced at 22 this is where things took off. I knew in the divorce I was going to lose everything even though I had a good paying job working midnights but picked up a full time day job as well, one day as I went to work at the Shoneys at 141 and 55 in Arnold Mo. In 1992, I was dragging ass going into work and my kitchen manager introduced me to meth. That was my new love for many years, I had been in and out of rehabs for many years and no luck. My addiction just got worse. Fast forward to 2013 my job was ending and I was living with a wonderful woman and her 2 kids and the stress of losing 50,000 plus a year got to me so when someone had me try ice. My goodness, I found my 4 wife yes I have been married 3 times and my addiction messed all 3 up, I took the ice and ran for the next couple of years going into isolation and drawing back and in 2015 is when all hell broke lose, I remember like it was yesterday, my addiction was so bad I stole 400 dollars from her and when she found out her words telling me to get the fuck out of her house and 3 days later she had a brainstem stroke and passed away so my last conversation with was awful, my gf kicked me out and things spiraled more. I had a 2013 Malibu that a heroin addict totaled.  I then had a motorcycle accident and it took 6 hours for me to be found and it almost killed me but 2 hours before the accident I put a large amount of dope in a spoon with whiskey and in the arm it went, all this happened with car, mom, accident within a week of each other. I then was on painkillers for 10 months straight and stopped cold turkey the worst detox ever, so from there I was homeless in the streets of St. Louis to a 9 day stretch of being up hearing voices and thought I was being followed, I passed out, ended up in the hospital and then rehab, and that was the best thing that could have happened to me because today I'm almost 4 years clean and sober. My date is Dec.19th 2016 and my life is Absolutely AWESOME, I plan on opening a nonprofit organization at the end of the year. I have an AWESOME sponsor and I'm working the steps, I can only hope this story may help someone and I did have to cut some things out I've been rambling enough and with the disease of addiction I hope to make a huge impact in this world for the good.
